This is an excellent opportunity to join a diversified multi-stage, multi-strategy early-stage investor who are focused on building, backing, and scaling fast growth businesses. Headquartered in London, they have a long-standing, entrepreneurial team. They currently hold stakes in approximately 139 businesses across Europe, the US, and the Middle East.
What the job involves
With the aim to further build their institutional investor base, they are now looking to add a dedicated business development professional to focus across the UK, Europe, and the US. The incoming candidate will have an established institutional network with family offices being advantageous. An interest and track record in the venture space would be welcomed, with broader private markets experience being of additional benefit.
Responsibilities will include:
- Building and developing relationships and contacts within the investor community, taking a proactive approach to meet and source new institutional investors across the UK, Europe, and the US.
- Developing an understanding of their investment strategies ensuring their strategies are adequately introduced to investors, working together with the wider organisation to get investors over the line.
- Further establishing the brand name amongst investors, attending conferences and events.
- Keeping up to date with investors' allocation strategies and timelines, ensuring the CRM system is properly up to date.
- Keeping up to date with market trends and compiling market intelligence on products, LPs, and GPs.
- Helping to manage relationships with external fundraisers, if any.
Who we are looking for:
- Strong track record of raising capital within the relevant institutional markets, preferably selling private market strategies.
- Experience from having been part of a fundraising team at a placement agent or broader alternative asset managers building institutional investor networks.
- Venture Capital knowledge and track record would be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, able to build strong, lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate business and financial product information clearly and accurately.
- Demonstrate proactivity, tenacity, discipline, and enthusiasm for raising capital.
