About our client

We are partnering with a leading growth investor focussed on early- to late-stage venture and growth businesses. With billions under management across a varied portfolio across multiple high growth sectors, the team has a strong track record of supporting growth and delivering long-term value. The firm routinely co-invests with top-tier global funds and is now looking to add a 'Portfolio Director' to its team. This role will be central to managing and supporting a portfolio of high-potential companies, helping shape their strategic direction, drive performance, and support key events such as follow-on investments and exits.

What the job involves

  • Take active board roles across a portfolio of 5-12 companies, providing strategic oversight and supporting management teams.
  • Lead on value creation initiatives including fundraising, strategic reviews, operational improvements, and exit planning.
  • Contribute to portfolio-level decision-making through structured analysis and the preparation of Investment Committee materials.
  • Work collaboratively across internal teams to align company plans with broader fund objectives.
  • Engage in complex and challenging situations where thoughtful intervention can drive meaningful outcomes.

Who we are looking for

  • A professional with experience in venture capital, growth or private equity, or a related investment environment with board-level exposure.
  • Strong track record of working directly with portfolio companies to support growth, resolve challenges, and deliver results.
  • Financially and commercially astute, with hands-on experience in fundraising, exits, and strategic planning.
  • Comfortable working with a range of stakeholders, from founders to fund partners, and able to navigate complex dynamics.
