Overview
In this role, you will work with CAN, LIN, SENT and other automotive buses, optimise engine sensor data, and contribute to high-performance embedded algorithms. This role is perfect for a hands-on engineer who loves low-level development and wants to build real automotive hardware used by everyday drivers.
Key Responsibilities And Activities Include
- Design, develop, and embed C/C++ software on custom automotive hardware platforms.
- Implement CAN, LIN, SENT and develop low-power analogue circuits for sensor interfacing.
- Handle schematic capture and PCB layout using Altium, Proteus, or similar tools.
- Build, breadboard, and debug prototypes while supporting hardware bring-up and validation.
- Contribute to requirements, design reviews, and compliance activities (EMI, safety, EU/UKCA).
Must-Have Qualifications
- Familiarity with communication bus structures in automotive use (CAN, LIN, SENT, etc).
- Familiarity with automotive requirements, standards, environment, and components.
- C++ coding ability for embedded applications.
- Good experience in low-voltage and low-power precision analogue design.
- PCB layout. Altium, Proteus, etc.
- Ability to breadboard and debug designs.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with BEVs (Battery Electric Vehicle).
- Familiarity with ARM-based microcontroller (M4+) hardware design.
- Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy and EU RED.
- Familiarity with Keil design environment.
- Circuit simulation.
- Guiding projects through EMI and safety testing to EU/UKCA approval.
- Test specification and test-jig creation.
- Requirement capture and specification generation.
