PepsiCo is looking for Engineering Apprenticeships to join our Walkers site in Coventry. Join the world of PepsiCo Supply Chain; our factory in Coventry is one of our biggest snack manufacturing sites in the UK, producing a number of well-known brands including Doritos, SunBites, Squares, French Fries, Wotsits, Quavers and Monster Munch.

  • Working Week: First year at College in Coventry: Mon - Thu: 08:00 - 16:00, Fri 08:00 - 12:00.

What to expect:

It is an exciting time for us and we continually strive to improve our business performance. Our Engineering Staff are a huge part of our operation and work across every area of the plant undertaking a variety of crucial tasks to maintain our high standards.

As an Engineering Apprentice, you'll attain base engineering skills in the form of a BTEC/HNC. Over a period of 4 years, this will be a mix of attending college and working in a fast-paced automated manufacturing environment gaining hands-on experience.

Skills you'll develop include:

  • Mechanical applications and solutions
  • Electrical wiring, testing, installation and fault finding
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Automation Control Systems

Training to be Provided:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
  • BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
  • Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence)

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside a team of highly skilled Engineers to carry out preventive and corrective maintenance and to identify opportunities and implement solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, equipment reliability, and product quality, with consideration for health and safety and the environment.
  • Work safely, with regard for your duty of care to yourself and to others who may be affected by your work.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Keep others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department or company.
  • Work with MGTS external assessor to produce workplace assessment training plans.
  • Attend lectures, practicals and visits as per training provider learning plan.

Qualifications:

We are seeking applications from candidates who have or are predicted to gain 5 x GCSEs (or equivalent). Grades must be A*- C / 9-5 for Maths and A*- C / 9-4 for English, Science and two other subjects.

Lots of enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and good problem-solving skills are essential.
