The overarching role of Commercialisation is to enable our organisation to remain competitive and achieve sustained growth via the flawless execution of ‘Fewer, Bigger, Better & Faster’ innovation, change and value engineering in line with Growth Navigator principles.
The key accountabilities of the function include:
- Managing the innovation hopper and pipeline; understanding the value, gaps, risks, resources and trade-offs required to deliver our targets and ensure we make the right innovation portfolio choices
- Leading the Stage Gate process and innovation governance forums
- Providing world-class Commercial project management expertise, delivering solutions that enable rapid speed-to-market and flawless execution
- Driving innovation synergies and minimising duplication and low value-add activities
- Proactively engaging with the Global and Sector teams to enable flawless Commercialisation of strategic growth platforms
- Developing and embedding world-class people, processes, systems and scorecard capability into the categories and BUs
- Driving continuous improvement across all innovation governance and Commercialisation KPIs
Responsibilities:
The role will work closely with the UK Foods Marketing teams, Commercialisation Leads, Insights, Supply Chain, Engineering, R&D and Finance to develop and execute new product launches and commercial change projects within a sub-section of UK Snacks. The focus will predominantly be on projects for the current and following calendar year with execution management responsibility to ensure we meet Customers’ first shipment requirements.
Within the execution management, the role will also be responsible for prioritising artwork development and changeovers (film and cases) for innovation, activation and change projects in order to meet critical deadlines. Focus being on readiness for launch, optimising timing for in store visibility (on and off shelf) at customer and SKU level and reporting readiness and interventions required at the Activation Board.
Reporting status and work through solutions to mitigate any risks/issues, communicating these to senior stakeholders when required. Oversee packaging change calendar and obsolescence management making recommendations on how we consolidate changes to minimise complexity and obsolescence with PEP+ lens. Responsible for communicating risks/issues and required trade-offs across senior stakeholders. Management of the MyInnovation PM system to ensure data accuracy, governance and compliance to the Stage Gate process.
Qualifications:
Candidate must have great attention to detail and be able to manage own time and workload across several projects and tasks concurrently. Good MS tools skills, especially Excel/Teams to support data accuracy and reporting. Ability to collaborate with x-functional teams, and communicate requirements clearly. Commercial awareness and understanding of PepsiCo UK business/portfolio and customer base. Understanding of the Manufacturing / Distribution and Route to Market fundamentals and how SKU/RM changes impact them. Ability to manage a fast moving agenda, adapting and dealing with time pressure. Experience of SKU or RM planning beneficial but not essential.
