Technical Lead for the Asset Care team, to provide an effective link between the Operations and Engineering support teams offering a high level of technical support and providing technical feedback in all engineering related activities. Liaison with Reliability Manager, ML and planners to coordinate daily priorities including identification and communication of resource during maintenance shutdowns. Provide on shift coaching and mentoring to up-skill maintenance personnel.
Responsibilities
- Day to day co-ordinator for all of the asset care team, ensuring holidays and absence is controlled in line with company policy.
- Collaborating with the Reliability manager, Maintenance Leads and Maintenance planners to ensure Asset Care team resource is aligned to maximise production outages and support all elements TE loses.
- Accountable for the prioritisation of Asset care engineering resource to ensure they are working proactively on the key requirements to eliminate safety, quality and performance issues, this will also include support relating to Utility equipment, outside areas and facilities.
- Provide coaching and feedback to improve maintenance interventions including speed of intervention, quality of completion and effectiveness of the interventions.
- Supporting (where required) In depth analysis (IDA) to reduce repeat breakdowns and slow running.
- Proactive & logical fault prevention along with continuous improvement activity to deliver the sites key KPI’s and support the PEP+ sustainability requirements.
- Act as the 1st point of escalation, from asset care team, for technical breakdowns and guidance.
- Challenging asset care teams around maintenance KPIs i.e. completion rate, quality of execution, SAP accuracy and MTBF.
- Provide Engineering maintenance expertise in their area and ownership of site maintenance shutdowns.
- Highlight skills and capability gaps within the Asset Care population and work with RM & Compliance Mgr to address.
- Provide strong engineering expertise on site to drive improvements in maintenance KPIs and sustain shift performance.
- Lead and support improvements through effective use of the root case analysis techniques and the change management process. Target is to eliminate repeat and catastrophic failures at site.
- Assist in the control of contractors including PTW issuing & compliance checks.
- Ensure that contractors working on site equipment are working in line with the correct business standards.
- Ensure cross shift communication including handovers, issues, work order completion and follow up requirements.
- Provide technical support and input concerning equipment specifications into projects.
- Responsible for engineering team safety on shift, including providing leadership and coaching on nonroutine activities.
- Documenting and executing detailed handovers between shifts to ensure key information is correctly shared.
- Collaborating with the ML & RM take a lead role in the execution of major equipment overhauls.
- As and when required, must have the technical ability to operate in a hands-on nature to assist in major breakdowns/complex overhauls.
Qualifications
- Advanced Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Recognised Electrical / Mechanical academic qualification.
- Advanced Electro-Mechanical aptitude.
- Challenge people, hold them accountable for job completion and quality of completion.
- Industrial experience in a food manufacturing environment would also be an advantage.
- Competent and capable in a relevant Mechanical/Electrical discipline.
- Computer literate. Familiarity with computer software (word, excel, etc).
- Demonstrate problem solving capabilities with the ability to lead a complex problem-solving activity.
- Good influencing, presentation, communication and decision-making skills.
