With sites across the UK, including our Quaker mill in Cupar and Doritos factory in Coventry, we’re also home to one of the world’s largest crisp factories in Leicester.

As a Hygiene Manager you will be responsible for the overall cleanliness and food safety compliance of both sites (Lincoln & Brigg).

The role ensures that all factory areas, equipment and site standards are maintained to strict standards to prevent contamination, protect brand reputation and satisfy our consumers.

This role will require regular travel between Lincoln and Brigg sites so own car and clean driving licence is essential for role.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and owning the site hygiene strategy, including planned sanitation windows and the creation of detailed cleaning schedules as part of MSS.
  • Managing and motivating the site team, including training, to deliver the right standard every day.
  • Maintaining audit-ready compliance to BRCGS, GFSI and AIB standards.
  • Overseeing microbial swabbing, ATP testing and swab trending to identify trends and eliminate any exception situations.
  • Managing chemical stocks and usage according to COSHH regulations.
  • Leading Root Cause Analysis investigations into hygiene and swab failures and driving efficiency in all practices.
  • Driving sustainable hygiene improvement.
  • Creating, implementing and delivering robust hub-wide MSS.
  • Owning all planned sanitation outages across both sites.
  • Managing sanitation standards delivered by in-house and ISS 3rd party contractors.
  • Maintaining PEM activities in line with business standards in collaboration with Food Safety Manager.
  • Managing all allergen cleaning activities, including validation methods, in collaboration with Food Safety Manager.
  • Maintaining the Food Defence Plan.
  • Owning 3rd Party Laundry services.
  • Managing 3rd party Chemical supply, including ordering and full COSHH management.
  • Managing 2 core Shift Hygienists

Qualifications

Essential

  • Robust knowledge of BRC Standards.
  • Understanding of HACCP and prerequisite programmes.
  • Detailed knowledge of cleaning policies, practices and procedures.
  • Ability to coach and develop individuals and teams to strive for an ‘audit ready every day’ mindset.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse data and trends.
  • Accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail.
  • Proactive approach and ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to influence multi layers of business.
  • Experience of establishing and delivering training activities.

Preferred

  • Knowledge of AIB FS standards
  • Ability to apply root cause analysis techniques
  • Kaizen Leader / Green Belt certification
