The Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator role in our Coventry site is a shift based position working 4 on 4 off, though flexibility is required. The role will have specific areas of responsibility for the support of day to day management, compliance and auditing of site EHS standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting site compliance with Environmental Health and Safety legislation and operating within internal GEHSMS (Global Environmental, Health and Safety Management System) standards.
- Working with Operations, Projects, and other functions to promote good EHS practices and raising issues early for resolution.
- Supporting resolution of significant near misses and contributing to accident investigations.
- Conducting site-wide inspections including Environmental, PPE, Line-Specific, Fire Protection, WWS, and Contractor Control.
- Managing PPE on site, ensuring correct specifications, recording issues, and maintaining suitable supply.
- Owning GEHSMS elements as required by site (e.g., Waste Management, Spill Prevention, Walking Working Surfaces, PPE).
- Completing risk assessments with shift-based operations, support, and front-line teams for COSHH, Task-Based, PUWER (with MESS duty holder), and Aspects.
