Working within the Grains hub team scheduling the entirety of production at the Cupar site Oatso/Trads/Bulk. The line scheduler is the link between supply planners and manufacturing. Responsible for the translation of the short term supply plan into a daily site level for a 6 week horizon, and a detailed schedule at an hourly machine level for weeks 0-3. The scheduler has responsibility for influencing both CS&L and manufacturing teams & KPI’s, customer service and manufacturing cost. The scheduler will be involved in the iS&OP process & AOP capacity build.
Responsibilities- Translate the short‑term supply plan (0–6 weeks) into a detailed production schedule, including daily site‑level planning and hourly line/machine scheduling for weeks 0–3.
- Own line scheduling for all Cupar factory lines, ensuring an optimised, efficient short‑term site plan across multiple production resources.
- Lead daily supply exception management, adjusting day/shift/hour schedules based on full supply chain information and making decisions at the point of action.
- Ensure planning trade‑off decisions are aligned with internal supply chain stakeholders and supported by accurate data.
- Maintain scheduling systems and master data Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS) to ensure high‑quality planning inputs and system integrity.
- Act as the daily link between Supply Planning and the site, administering and communicating agreed plan changes.
- Track and report daily KPIs (Plans Supply Agreement/ Volume Fill) and provide input into weekly planning forums.
- Support projects and business change initiatives (R&D, productivity, LEAN), minimising obsoletes and highlighting risks.
- Contribute to Integrated Sales & Operations Planning (iS&OP) and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) capacity planning, while providing cover for MRP and Oats planning when required.
- Drive performance and issue resolution, influencing cross‑functional teams, optimising line schedules, ensuring governance of Plans Supply Agreement (PSA)/Volume Fill (VFill) processes, and resolving production issues independently.
- End to end Supply chain or planning/manufacturing experience.
- High level of technical knowledge of the plant processes – capacity & bottlenecks (desired).
- Leverages personal knowledge and skills of systems & processes to evaluate information & data to take best course of action & deliver results.
- Ability to build strong influencing relationships with both external and internal stakeholders.
- Structured & flexible approach to problem solving, that works well under pressure.
- Attention to detail, high drive for results.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Get the Bigger Picture - Supply Chain knowledge and experience to understand impact of any issues or change across the network and planning teams.
