In this role, you will be an effective member of the reliability team, responsible for delivering asset health reports on rotating equipment using a range of condition monitoring techniques. You will manage and continuously update the site lubrication program, ensuring best practice standards are maintained. You will have the ability to lead and support team members by providing clear technical guidance, while also carrying out specific site management duties as defined by the Maintenance Manager. On shift, you will coach and mentor maintenance personnel to support their development and up‑skill the wider team. You will set priorities in line with site needs, working at PACE to drive high standards, strong performance, and consistent reliability across the site.
Responsibilities
- Collect, analyse, and interpret data from condition monitoring (CM) tools and live monitoring systems, generating clear asset health reports and raising work orders via the CMMS (SAP).
- Follow up actions to support planned maintenance delivery. (Training provided.)
- Lead elements of the site’s predictive maintenance and Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) strategy using techniques such as oil analysis/tribology, vibration analysis (fixed, remote, and route-based), thermography, ultrasonic/acoustic monitoring, and motor circuit analysis. (Training provided.)
- Carry out vibration data collection using Emerson CSI 2140 or equivalent analysers, including building and maintaining asset structures within AMS Machinery Manager. (Training provided.)
- Produce daily, weekly, and monthly Asset Health Reports, identifying potential failure modes, assessing risk, and communicating impacts to the reliability team and wider business.
- Troubleshoot emerging equipment threats, ensuring risks are escalated, converted into work orders, and planned into controlled shutdowns where required.
- Work closely with Senior Engineers and maintenance personnel to build asset understanding and provide technical guidance based on condition monitoring data.
- Define, develop, and continuously improve Asset Maintenance Plans, driving the CBM agenda and reducing unnecessary preventative maintenance activities.
- Contribute to risk management and continuous improvement initiatives, including reliability modelling, root cause failure analysis (RCA), fault tree analysis, SPC, and Six Sigma methodologies. (Training provided.)
- Support engineering solutions to recurring issues affecting safety, quality, capacity, cost, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ engineering experience working with Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) programs.
- Vibration Analysis Category 1 (minimum).
- Proven experience with lubrication systems and lubrication best practices.
- Engineering background with a minimum of 3 years’ post‑qualification experience.
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding and troubleshooting capability.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong IT proficiency.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong planning, influencing, communication, and decision‑making skills.
Skills desired
- Engineering qualification at HNC/HND level (Level 3 or above).
- Vibration Analysis Category 2 or above.
- Thermography Category 1 or above.
- Ultrasound Category 2 or above.
- Working knowledge of alignment, fan balancing, and basic pump performance assessments.
- Experience with pipework vibration analysis.
- Previous experience using an engineering CMMS (SAP preferred).
- Proven ability to coach and mentor frontline technician resources.
