Overview
We are seeking a Perfect Store Manager to join the DX Category Leadership team.
The position will be responsible for developing the multi-year vision & strategy, that disproportionately delivers for Pepsi Co, but grows the savoury snacks category for the OT customers.
The role represents the external voice of the channel & customer, where the incumbent is expected to be able to talk confidently about the latest consumer & shopper trends and keep the business up to date on the ever-changing competitor landscape.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with the DX, Insights, RGM & Marketing teams to develop one, coherent category strategy (3-year horizon) for the OT channel.
- Where relevant, owns the category development conversations with Pepsi Co’s priority customers to ensure that the ‘strategy flows through to the omni-channel shelf’.
- Supports the ‘Store of the Future’ thinking & owns the external ‘Category Growth Story’ (a translation of Pepsi Co’s internal brand strategies).
- Uses data-driven insights to recommend the optimal portfolio & channel assortment (addressing the priority opportunities, challenges & innovation ‘white spaces’).
- Outlines the levers & drivers for growth (both short & long-term), as well as the role of Pepsi Co’s brands to deliver a ‘triple win’ (shopper, customer & supplier).
- Builds & embeds the sub-channel ‘Pictures of Success’ within the Commercial organisation (e. g. must‑stock range, merchandising principles). Sets the annual execution targets.
- Attends the PMR forum as the category SME & provides an objective perspective to feed the Commercialisation & IBP processes.
- Socialises the category strategy (including the associated products & outputs) across a broad set of stakeholders to influence the annual & strategic plans.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working within FMCG (preferably Category or Sales roles).
- Practical experience of category-first or ‘triple-win’ thinking is a must.
- Recognised project or change management qualifications are an advantage.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Has strong business acumen (across Commercial, Finance & Operations).
- Demonstrates ‘end-to-end’ thinking & thought‑leadership (i. e. future‑fit).
- Presents complex information & recommendations in a simplified, yet compelling manner.
- Cleary articulates the business impact (i. e. connects the insights, actions & implications).
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of implementing successful strategies.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Power Point) and other relevant applications.
