Main Purpose: Carry out regular weekly tests & inspections to site Fire Alarm & Sprinkler System, ensure all paper work is kept up to date to ensure site legal compliance.
Salary: £34,230 / 42 hours a week
Responsibilities:
- Carry out maintenance inspection & repairs to the building facilities on site;
- Carry out functional inspections of all site services (SRDC & Tollwell Road) such as Compressors, Racking, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning systems, Sprinkler systems, Fire detection systems.
- Reporting to the Facilities on a day-to-day basis; who reports to the Site Engineering Manager.
- Ensure all servicing is carried out to site service equipment, both internally & by external companies.
- Manage day to day activities & Control permit to work for external contractors who carry out services to site Facilities & Services.
- Support with the design & justification for Capital Investment for site services.
- Carry out energy monitoring of key site service equipment flag any high usages & plan to remedy to issues.
Decision making authority:
- Ensure all documents are filed & up to date for all site services, flag any issues raised from service visits.
- Owner of day to day plan for site service repairs.
- Use own initiative to try & resolve issues with Site Services without reference to line manager.
- Raise issues that are not straight forward or will affect plant efficiency direct to Facilities Manager.
- Highlight to Facilities Manager any issues with contractors; ensure contractors carry out correct work as per order.
- Daily contact with Facilities Manager to review work plan but the person is expected to work off their own initiative majority of the time.
Qualifications:
- Qualifications and/or knowledge and experience of maintaining Facilities equipment and services.
- Highly numerate, with analytical thinking.
- RCA / analytical problem solving skills or equivalent.
- RCM / FMEA knowledge or formal qualification.
- Excellent organisational skills – ability to handle multiple work streams.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP).
- Track record in coaching and strong influencing skills to achieve commitment to planning/reliability agenda.
- Decision making and communication abilities, demonstrated at all levels.
- Must demonstrate assertiveness and confidence to take an active part in meetings with fellow employees and external contractors at all levels particularly QCDM meetings.
- Highly motivated and a strong team player with good people skills, having effective written and verbal communication skills across a range of contacts, both within the organisation and beyond.
- Willingness to complete continuing professional development courses with an engineering biased to further potentially progress within the engineering department.
