The Role
As a Junior Accountant reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day financial accounting and control operations across the vibrant Pepperstone EMEA region. This position is perfect for graduates or early‑career accountants eager to establish a solid foundation in financial accounting, reconciliations, month‑end close processes, and regulatory reporting within an exciting, fast‑moving fintech setting. You’ll collaborate closely with seasoned finance professionals, gaining valuable exposure to a diverse range of accounting functions, systems, and business stakeholders, all while receiving structured support and ample opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- Financial Accounting & Controls
- Assist with daily and monthly financial accounting processes, including journals and reconciliations
- Support preparation of balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Assist with month‑end close activities, including variance analysis and supporting schedules
- Maintain appropriate documentation to support accounting entries and balances
- Support daily client money and operational reconciliation processes
- Assist in identifying breaks or issues and escalating appropriately
- Develop an understanding of key transaction flows to support regulatory compliance requirements
- Assist with preparation of quarterly, half‑year and annual statutory reporting
- Support audit activities by preparing supporting documentation and responding to queries
- Assist with tax and statutory compliance activities (VAT, WHT, Corporate tax) under guidance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes
- Assist with documenting processes and controls
- Gain exposure to finance systems and potential system enhancements or automation initiatives
- Work closely with the wider Global Finance team to support smooth handovers and shared processes
- Build effective working relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Compliance, Operations and Technology
- Actively participate in learning and development opportunities, such as ACCA studies
About you
- Tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance, with partial or intended accounting qualification.
- Fluency in German language
- Detail‑oriented, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Ability to meet deadlines, adapt to change, and work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills and accountability.
- Ability to demonstrate the Pepperstone Way
Desirable
- Exposure to financial accounting, reconciliations or audit
- Interest in fintech, trading or financial markets
- Experience using Excel skills for data analysis (intermediate or advanced skills are advantageous)
- Exposure to finance systems and BI tools is beneficial but not required
