PepperHQ, a fast-growing UK technology company, is seeking a skilled QA Engineer (3–6+ years’ experience) to join our quality-driven engineering team. This is a hands-on role suited for professionals who enjoy understanding features end-to-end, performing thorough functional and regression testing, and collaborating closely with developers to deliver reliable, customer-facing products. This position offers the opportunity to work on international UK projects while operating remotely from India within a globally distributed team.
Role Overview
As a QA Engineer at PepperHQ, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and usability of our mobile applications, APIs, and backend systems. You will be involved early in the development lifecycle, enabling teams to release high-quality features with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform functional, regression, and exploratory testing across mobile applications, APIs, and backend services
- Understand product features and business workflows to ensure comprehensive test coverage
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across mobile, API, and backend layers
- Design, execute, and maintain detailed test cases and scenarios
- Identify, log, track, and validate defects using standard bug-tracking tools
- Collaborate closely with developers and product managers to maintain high quality standards before release
- Contribute to QA process improvements and best practices
- Support and enhance automation testing initiatives (nice to have)
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience: 3–6+ years in QA / Software Testing
- Education: BE / B.Tech / MCA
- Strong experience in functional and regression testing
- Hands-on experience with API testing and mobile application debugging
- Good understanding of backend testing and databases
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Excellent communication and analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote, distributed environment
- Candidates based in Bangalore are preferred
Location & Working Hours
- Location: Remote (Bangalore preferred) with one office visit per month
- Working Hours: UK Time Zone — 1:50 PM to 11:00 PM IST
