The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is looking for two Visitor Reception Assistants to work at Anne Hathaway's Cottage and Shakespeare's Birthplace to support us over the 2026 season. There are two contracts available, one working 27 hours per week over 4 days and one working 13.5 hours per week over 2 days. The contract will run from Monday 9 March 2026 to Sunday 1 November 2026. The working day will be from 9.45am to 5.00pm and will include working weekdays, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent standards of visitor experience through a warm welcome and sharing of information to enhance visitors' understanding of the offer.
- Contribute to the financial sustainability of the Trust by ensuring that opportunities are taken to maximise sales through an efficient and professional admission process leading to increased average admissions and secondary spends.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience of working in a high profile, customer-facing operation, preferably a busy visitor attraction with a diverse audience.
- Experience delivering against a range of KPIs including financial and visitor satisfaction targets.
- A sound understanding of customer service principles.
- Experience of using EPOS ticketing systems and cash handling is essential.
