Pepperdine University London seeks a part-time instructor/lecturer to teach an undergraduate module in Sociology. This position is based in our London study centre in South Kensington.

Module Title: SOC 200: Introduction to Sociology

This undergraduate module provides an introduction to the history, principles, and methodology of sociology intended for non-sociology majors. Emphasis is on introducing students to the sociological analysis of human groups, institutions, and societies.

Term Dates/Times: Spring Term: 12 January 2026–18 April 2026, 2 x 90-minute lectures scheduled per week.

Job responsibilities: The instructor/lecturer is responsible for creating and delivering lectures, selecting and marking readings, homework assignments & exams, and corresponding with students. The integration of local site visits and excursions which support the curriculum are welcome and encouraged.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Master’s degree in Sociology or a related field.
  • Preferred: PhD in Sociology or a related field.
  • Competitive candidates will be able to demonstrate their scholarship in the field of sociology through intellectual contributions in the area.
  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate prior teaching experience and effectiveness in the classroom, supported by teaching evaluations.
  • Experience working with American or international students is desirable.
  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate their legal right to work in the UK.
