As our Treasury Legal Counsel, you’ll play a key role in supporting Pepper Money's debt capital markets activity, helping shape and maintain the funding structures that underpin our mortgage business. Working closely with our Treasurer, Treasury team, and external counsel, you’ll ensure transactions are executed efficiently, legal risks are well‑managed, and our funding platforms remain robust and compliant.
What you will be doing
- Support the Treasurer in managing legal risk across the Pepper UK business.
- Draft, review and negotiate documentation for securitisations, warehouses, forward flow arrangements and other funding structures.
- Lead or support the legal workstream for RMBS transactions (Castell & Polaris), warehouses, whole loan sales and derivative structures.
- Advise on the legal aspects of new funding structures, treasury initiatives and capital markets issuance.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks, including UK Securitisation Regulation and PRA/FCA requirements.
- Provide legal input on mortgage product design, origination policies, collateral eligibility and investor expectations.
- Support investor due diligence processes and respond to legal queries from arrangers, rating agencies and institutional investors.
- Manage external counsel relationships, ensuring efficient and commercially focused delivery.
- Review and negotiate ISDA documentation, CSAs and other risk‑management agreements.
- Contribute to internal governance processes including ALCO, Credit Committee and Product Governance.

- Understanding of treasury operations, hedging and liquidity management.
- Exposure to private credit markets or whole‑loan sales (advantageous).
- Knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks affecting securitisation and mortgage lending.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions, deadlines and stakeholders in a fast‑moving environment.
- Experience working in‑house within a lender.
