A Technician is primarily responsible for diagnosing drivability and electrical systems using their experience and technical expertise. They will use leadership and mentoring skills to drive a team towards increasing customer care and satisfaction. The Technician will have direct interaction with customers, providing education on vehicle problems and proposed solutions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair to specifications, including brake and hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning, and computer systems.
- Perform duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
- Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and employees as required.
- Continuously update technical knowledge through formal training to keep pace with evolving automotive technology.
- Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
- Notify management of mechanical issues as they occur.
- Maintain an organized and clean shop environment.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, safety, and environmental rules.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
This position requires leadership in the shop, setting the pace and tone while developing the team. A collaboration and team-first mentality are essential. Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving, and repair experience
- 4+ ASE certifications preferred, including A4, A5, and two from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1
- Section 609 certification
- State Inspection license if applicable
- High motivation, energy, and customer-focused attitude
- Valid driver's license
- Successful pre-employment background check
- Availability for flexible working hours including days, nights, holidays, and weekends
