This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to make a lasting impact by mentoring the next generation of Royal Navy engineers — leveraging your career expertise without the need for prior teaching experience!

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Delivering training to groups of up to 24 trainees in Electrical or Electronic engineering and machine principles
  • Conducting practical lab sessions, demonstrating key principles and supervising trainee experiments
  • Marking and check-marking assessments to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Maintaining and updating training materials with Training Design staff

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • At least a Foundation Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline), or an HND/FdSc in Electronic or Electric Engineering or proven teaching/practical experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering

Desirable (not essential) Skills & Experience:

  • Classroom experience in teaching technical subjects in an adult education environment
  • Level 4 teaching qualification
  • Experience of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (or equivalent)

This role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non-working weeks taken 2 weeks at Christmas and Easter and 3 weeks in August. The salary will therefore be pro rata’d and calculated to include contractual annual leave entitlement and bank holidays.
