Rate: £500 per day – Inside IR35

Location: Essex based offices (between Brentwood and Basildon) 4 days a week

The banking and finance arm of one of the world’s leading manufacturing companies and a household name is seeking a software engineer, software developer with Backend and Identity Access Management (IAM) expertise. The Backend Software Engineer will join the Identity Management Services team, focusing on the core platform work that powers identity infrastructure.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Design and build high-scale backend services
  • Serve as a technical lead to upskill the team in modern, industry-leading application development.
  • Ensure the platform is secure and resilient
  • Leverage expertise to elevate the team's technical standards and foster a culture of excellence in backend engineering.

Essential Skill and Experience:

  • 8+ years working with backend technologies including Java, Java Frameworks
  • Web development - DevOps practices (CI/CD, version control)
  • Security and identity management (IAM)
  • Monitoring and logging
  • Relational databases
  • Server-Side technologies
  • Agile

Desirable (not essential) Skills & Experience:

  • Networking (Subnets, Firewall, Load balancing, VPN configurations)
  • Problem-Solving and debugging
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP)
