This is a career-defining business leadership opportunity, working on a history-changing contract. For the first time ever, all 3 UK Armed Forces have joined together in their recruitment. Join TMP and help deliver groundbreaking, award-winning, multi-channel brand and recruitment marketing solutions for the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Airforce. As part of a Serco-led consortium, TMP has been awarded the contract to deliver all marketing for UK Armed Forces recruitment. This joint initiative is known as the Armed Forces Recruitment Service (AFRS). Running until 2037, this contract offers an unrivalled opportunity to make a long-term, positive impact on the UK Armed Forces – and help transform the defence of the nation.

The Role

It starts with focusing on the transition phase of the contract. Over this first 21 months, your priorities will include building an industry-leading client service team. You'll nurture strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the Armed Forces, to understand the needs of each service. Working closely with the Head of AFRS and Strategy Director AFRS to build a 2-year marketing strategy, you'll collaborate with creative teams to develop inspiring campaigns ready for launch in 2027. We'll look to you to create a strong client platform for the contract to flourish. And, after the transition phase, your responsibilities will include:

  • Continuing to work closely with the 3 Services and the Serco consortium to ensure the programme's ongoing success
  • Ensuring marketing strategies are effectively driving pipelines across all areas
  • Understanding the performance of existing campaigns and opportunities for growth
  • Identifying and delivering continuous improvement and innovation
  • Ensuring the smooth running of the client service team to deliver a seamless service to AFRS.

Who we're looking for

An experienced client leader, you're a confident networker with the gravitas and ability to sell complex strategic marketing solutions. You've led and inspired teams, to build a high-performance culture. And, with the ability to manage a P&L, you always take a structured approach. You'll bring:

  • Expertise of building long-term client relationships within complex or multi-structured organisations
  • Expertise of driving customer satisfaction with a focus on delivering according to KPIs
  • Ability to navigate and work effectively across complex matrix management structures, working with and influencing partner organisations
  • Deep understanding of B2C & B2B marketing strategies both above and below the line
  • Experience of managing complex pipelines and deploying multiple multi-channel activations, with a strong understanding of marketing strategy and media.

Please note, this role will require full SC clearance.
