The opportunity People’s Partnership is seeking a Head of Public Policy & Research to lead its thought leadership, research, campaigns and public policy agenda at a senior level. This role will shape how the organisation influences government, industry and key stakeholders, ensuring its voice is clear, credible and impactful across the pensions and financial services landscape. Working closely with senior leadership, including the Head of Public Affairs, Head of Policy and executive team, the Head of Public Policy & Research will set the strategic direction for research, corporate narrative, campaigns and external positioning.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of a strategic thought leadership and policy research programme aligned to organisational priorities.
- Set and own the corporate policy narrative, ensuring clear and consistent positioning across external policy audiences and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee the commissioning and delivery of high‑quality research and insight to support policy development and industry influence.
- Build and maintain senior relationships across industry, government, think tanks and partner organisations.
- Lead and develop a high‑performing team, ensuring delivery of impactful campaigns, content and public policy outputs.
Key skills and experience
- Senior experience in policy, research, public affairs or corporate affairs within financial services, government, a think tank or membership organisation.
- Strong track record of developing thought leadership and influencing policy and industry debate.
- Experience commissioning and translating research into clear, compelling narratives for external audiences.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence at senior level.
- Strong communication skills, with experience producing high‑quality briefings, reports and strategic content.
