About People’s Partnership

At the heart of our not-for-profit organisation is a commitment and a motivation to make the future-saving experience a simple one for our members. We champion fairness and simplicity, not profit-chasing. Imagine a financial adventure where everyone’s a winner, fuelled by our exceptional service and brought to life by the fantastic individuals who work for us. We’re a diverse employer with a flexible, hybrid working approach, ensuring everyone gets the opportunity to come to work and be the best version of themselves.

What you’ll be doing:

Step into a pivotal leadership role where you’ll drive excellence across Quality, Controls, Regulatory Operations, and Technical Specialist teams. As Team Manager, you’ll be at the heart of the action, leading day-to-day operations while shaping a high-performing, future-ready function. You’ll champion first line assurance, ensure robust control design and testing, and deliver high-impact regulatory reporting and monthly insights. Acting as the critical bridge between senior leadership and specialist teams, you’ll empower strategic focus, elevate control maturity, and ensure the organisation is always one step ahead in regulatory readiness.

  • Own the first-line assurance rhythm, ensuring sampling, control testing, attestation cycles and thematic reviews are delivered consistently and to a high standard.
  • Provide leadership oversight of design effectiveness reviews, ensuring control gaps are identified, defined and embedded in partnership with Operations.
  • Ensure regulatory reporting, incident response, exception cycles and fraud/EDD workflows are completed to time and quality, escalating risks proactively.
  • Oversee resource planning, work allocation and prioritisation to meet operational, regulatory and assurance objectives.
  • Develop capability across specialists, building strength in control literacy, technical understanding, RCA, and assurance methodology.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven leadership experience across multi-disciplined specialist teams (e.g., Regulatory Operations, QA, Controls, Technical support), influencing through expertise rather than direct line management.
  • Deep understanding of first-line assurance, including QA frameworks, control testing, attestation cycles, sampling methodologies and design effectiveness assessments.
  • Strong regulatory awareness, including TPR expectations, incident/exception governance, audit evidence standards and operational risk management.
  • Experience leading operational readiness for regulatory or business change, ensuring controls, processes and documentation are updated and embedded.
  • Ability to analyse MI, trends and themes, converting data into insight and recommendations for operational action and control maturity uplift.

What you can expect from us:

  • Generous pension contributions with an employer contribution of up to 14%
  • Real living wage
  • Income protection, critical illness cover & death in service insurance
  • Employee healthcare
  • Parental and adoption leave
  • Learning & development opportunities and study support
  • Travel season ticket loans
  • Volunteering days and charity payroll giving
  • Onsite gym
  • Social clubs and events
