Role Summary: The Project SEARCH Instructor will collaborate with the Trainer and Business Host to develop and
coordinate the Project SEARCH program and provide instruction for people enrolled. The Project SEARCH Instructor
delivers the employability skills curriculum and works with each program participant’s team to reach the goal of
competitive employment.
Salary $64,400-69,400
Role Responsibilities:
Recruits people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities for possible participation.
Assists and attends Project Search monthly meetings, employment meetings (1:1 and with families) and
orientation.
As needed, connects people supported in Project SEARCH to appropriate community services such as ACCESVR
or local Developmental Disabilities Regional Officers through referral and eligibility processes.
Identifies internship sites within the host business to identify internships that build a repertoire of marketable skills
that lead to competitive, integrated employment.
Ensures Host Businesses rules and regulations are complied with, and program policies and procedure are
followed
Completes Vocfit.com assessment for people enrolled in Project SEARCH
Handles all communication including but not limited to acceptance and denial letters to those that are assessed.
Identifies and problem solves solutions for challenges that interfere with completion of Project SEARCH and
gaining and maintaining employment.
Tracks job placement after completion.
Completes regular evaluations and communicates progress regularly to team and make instructional and training
Bachelors degree in Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation or related field
2+ years experience working with people with intellectual and development disabilities
1+ years job coach experience
Knowledgeable of current best practices in the field of transition and supported employment.
