Are you an experienced Project Manager with a broad range of project delivery experience? Comfortable and confident to offer guidance and steer in best project management practices to a well-established public sector organisation, implementing structure and governance?

You may be in a position to utilise some PMO related experience you have. You will be working on behalf of a small consultancy, in a business critical Project Manager position, delivering significant advice, guidance and structure to a maturing organisation, experiencing challenges in project delivery currently.

Your role will include:

  • Putting structure behind what’s currently levels of inconsistency in certain areas - turning strategic intent into practical, actionable steps.
  • Strengthening their project management capability, centrally as well as in different business units.
  • Create a structured approach, bringing clarity to the delivery plan and tangible, measurable outcomes.
  • Support and promote consistent collaboration and alignment across business units.

You will be engaged on a range of different projects, which will often be sporadic. The key focus of your role will be around implementing the project management structure and governance across the board, rather than being involved excessively in one particular project. You will essentially establish and oversee reporting across the board.

Variety of projects will include:

  • People & organisational development
  • Technology and data
  • Core operational process
  • Infrastructure
  • Strategy and planning

The ideal individual with the right calibre of project experience and credibility will be able to make a huge impact in the role. It is important you can draw on a variety of project management experiences (including frameworks/methodology knowledge) and ideally similar demonstrable delivery as the above advert details. A blend of public sector (ideally emergency services) and private sector experience would be best suited to this opportunity.

As the ideal candidate you will be able to attend a local site in/around the Durham area, typically for 4 days per week.
