We are looking for a PSD & Employability Tutor to deliver Gateway and NCFE qualifications (E3 L2) to groups of up to 12 learners within a prison environment. This role plays a vital part in helping prisoners develop essential life and employability skills, preparing them for reintegration into society. With a focus on restorative practices, adaptive teaching, and literacy development, this position supports learners in taking responsibility, building confidence, and achieving personal growth.
Job Highlights:

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver PSD & Employability Courses: Facilitate engaging PSD and employability courses that adhere to Gateway and NCFE standards, equipping learners with personal, social, and work-ready skills.
- Adaptive Teaching Practices: Employ scaffolded learning and adaptive techniques to challenge learners at all levels, promoting a high standard of achievement and supporting neurodiverse needs.
- Promote Literacy and Digital Skills: Integrate reading and digital literacy into lessons to boost literacy as a core employability skill, with a focus on supporting learners with low literacy levels.
- Restorative Learning Environment: Encourage self-reflection, responsibility, and growth through restorative practices, motivating learners to engage in positive self-improvement.
- Collaborate with Key Stakeholders: Work closely with prison departments, CIAG, Work & Skills Coaches, employers, and other stakeholders to create employment pathways and support reintegration.
- Individual Learning Plans (ILPs): Develop and manage ILPs tailored to each learner's goals, literacy needs, and employability, using adaptive strategies to address diverse learning needs.
What You Bring:
- A Level 2 qualification in PSD, Employability, or Life Skills training, with experience in delivering engaging, inclusive courses.
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as PTLLS, AET, CET, or a willingness to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTTLS).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and motivational skills, with a commitment to fostering a rehabilitative and supportive learning environment.
