We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Functional Skills Curriculum Manager to lead, develop, and continuously improve our Functionalskillstraining offer at HMP Millsike.

This is a pivotal role where youll combine leadership, quality assurance, and curriculum innovation to deliver outstanding outcomes for our learners.

As a key member of the management team, youll be accountable to the Education Delivery & Standards Manager for the effective management of the vocational curriculum and for driving quality improvement across your area.

Youll also take the establishment lead for quality assurance in vocational training, ensuring our delivery meets the highest standards and supports rehabilitation through education and skills.

Doing: Design, develop, and oversee engaging functional skillstraining programmes, ensuring they meet learner needs and align with curriculum intent.

Lead on all aspects of quality monitoring and improvement, including observations, learning walks, deep dives, data analysis, and targeted interventions to secure rapid improvement where needed.

Inspire, lead, and mentor a team of functional skillstutors and instructors, supporting their professional development and fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.

Ensure programmes meet awarding body and regulatory requirements, overseeing all internal verification and moderation processes to the highest standard.

Implement inclusive teaching strategies, adapting provision for learners of all abilities, backgrounds, and additional needs, using starting point data to track and support progress.

Oversee resources, ensuring effective and efficient use within the prison environment, and contribute to budget planning and monitoring.

Collaborate with internal teams, prison services, and external partners to enhance curriculum delivery and create progression opportunities for learners.

Stay informed on functional skillseducation trends, bringing fresh ideas, technologies, and teaching methods into a secure setting.
