The Role

As a Learning Support Practitioner, you will work collaboratively with our Prison Education team, providing support to learners with neurodiverse and inclusion needs. Based at HMP Highpoint, you will manage a caseload of learners, carry out initial screening activity and develop Individual Learning Support plans. You will promote an effective and inclusive learning environment, providing support to learners both in a classroom or workshop environment and on a one-to-one basis.

  • You will need to demonstrate high ethical standards, take personal accountability for everything you do, and always want to be the best.
  • You should have relevant and recent experience in a similar role within a learning environment and hold or be willing to work towards a level 3 Learning Support qualification.
  • You will be passionate, creative, and empathetic towards our learners, offering knowledge and guidance throughout their academic and vocational studies.
  • You should be able to demonstrate experience of working within a Special Educational Needs field and experience of positively interacting with people in an educational or support setting.
