The Role

We are building a talent pool for various roles at HMP Millsike, where you’ll be part of the Education, Skills & Work Department— empowering individuals through inclusive learning, vocational training, and employment opportunities.
Our Vision: At HMP Millsike, our aim is to reduce reoffending by transforming lives and enabling prisoners to reintegrate into society as responsible and productive citizens.
Through the dedication of a high-performing team, we foster a restorative culture that gives prisoners the tools they need to succeed post-release.
Roles Available: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals for a range of roles, including:
- Tutors (Maths, English, ICT, Vocational Skills including Carpentry, Barbering, Pottery, and more)
- Vocational Instructors (BiCS Training Academy, Horticulture, Bicycle Repairs, Tea Packing, and more.)
Whether teaching in classrooms of 10 to 18 learners or leading larger industry workshops, you’ll work closely with Peer Mentors—prisoners who have completed courses and are trained to support others in their learning journeys.
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver high-quality education and/or training across a range of academic and vocational areas, helping prisoners gain skills they can use upon release.
- Collaborate with Peer Mentors, Peer Advocates, and industry leaders to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Support the Education, Skills & Work Department’s mission of fostering rehabilitation and reducing reoffending through transformative education.
- Help prisoners engage with services provided by The Employment Hub, where they can develop their CVs, access career guidance, apply for jobs, and receive support for reintegration into society.
