Based on-site at HMP Stocken, as a Work Coach you will be working with small groups of prison-based learners to develop their skills, knowledge and behaviours while supporting them with their long-term goals and aspirations. Our Trainers ensure that the appropriate training plans are in place and that the advice and guidance is given when required while ensuring they deliver the highest level of quality courses that engage with the learners and help them to reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify skills and goals to help individuals understand their strengths and set realistic career goals.
- Find opportunities to help assist individuals with job searches, review job vacancies, and connect them with potential employers and training courses.
- Develop job searching skills by providing guidance on writing effective CVs and completing job applications.
- Address challenges by offering support with difficult or challenging times in their lives and discuss any necessary adjustments for health conditions.
- Connect with resources to help individuals understand financial implications of a job and provide information on relevant benefits and training.
What we are looking for:
- Ideally an expert in your field with substantial vocational experience.
- Experience of delivering vocational based training.
- Ability to display a wide range of training methods to engage learners.
- If you don’t currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification, we are able to support you through the appropriate qualifications and assessments, as part of your probationary period.
