Help others build brighter futures by teaching the skills that matter most. We are looking for a passionate and practical Life Skills Tutor to deliver engaging, real-world learning that supports prison residents in preparing for life after release. In this role, you will deliver accredited qualifications (Gateway Entry Level 3 to Level 1) in key areas such as budgeting, healthy living, personal care, household management, and digital literacy.

With up to 12 prison-based learners per group, you will focus on individual progress and personalised goals, ensuring that each learner builds the confidence, knowledge, and independence to thrive in the community. This is more than teaching - it is about empowerment. You will create a positive, restorative learning environment that encourages responsibility, reflection, and growth. Your lessons will be practical, relevant, and focused on helping learners develop both essential life skills and wider employability.

What we are looking for:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Experience delivering life skills or personal development content to adults, ideally in a secure or community learning setting
  • The ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs, including neurodiverse learners or those with low literacy
  • A strong belief in rehabilitation, second chances, and lifelong learning

You will work collaboratively with support staff and stakeholders to ensure each learner receives the support they need to succeed both in the classroom and beyond the prison gate.
