Based from HMP Holme House as a Careers Advisor you will deliver high quality and impartial in-custody careers information, advice and guidance. Working with offenders to explore their experience and skills, you will understand their aspirations and long-term goals and support them with their education and employment, both in-custody and through the gate.
From supporting a learner’s induction into the prison and sharing information on the education and training available, through to developing Personal Learning Plans, delivering group Employability sessions and building relationships with local employers and key suppliers – we help our learners to see that their future is full of possibilities.
This is a Part Time role working 15 hours per week.

Level 3 IAG qualification

Experience of providing quality careers Information, Advice and Guidance to clients

Experience of developing and delivering careers/employability workshops

A passion to inspire, motivate and lead by experience to support achievement of qualifications and career aspirations

Confidence in using a range of presentation & communication skills

A background in working with disadvantaged people in a secure environment is desirable
