My client is a well-established, regulated UK bank with a clear purpose and real momentum. They’re looking for a Senior Capital & Stress Testing Analyst to help shape and run the Group’s ICAAP, Recovery Plan and Resolution Pack. This is a high-profile role: your work goes straight to ALCO, senior Risk, Finance and Treasury leaders, and the regulator.
You’ll have breadth as well as depth. As well as running the core capital processes, you’ll play a key part in Basel 3.1 and SDDT implementation and work with Strategy on capital optimisation.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting end-to-end delivery of the ICAAP and Recovery Plan: timetabling, governance, committee papers and SREP preparation
- Updating the stress testing approach, overseeing stress testing model development, and reviewing and challenging the results
- Running Recovery Plan fire-drills, and reviewing recovery indicators and recovery options
- Maintaining and refreshing regulatory capital forecasts as the business and the regulations change
- Building point-in-time and forecast scenario reporting, and producing Capital MI for ALCO
- Supporting the COREP review process and the Group’s prudential horizon scanning
- Writing high-quality documents for the ICAAP, Recovery Plan and Resolution Pack
What you’ll bring
- Bank regulatory capital or risk experience, either in industry or from advisory or assurance work
- A working knowledge of IFRS 9 expected credit losses
- Experience in financial planning, forecasting and modelling for a financial services business
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills, and a methodical approach
- Confidence presenting analysis and recommendations to management
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and a drive to improve how things are done
- Nice to have: a professional accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA); CertBALM, ACT, FRM or PRM are a bonus but not required
