Building Data, Tech & Analytics teams across Europe. This role is hybrid / remote – one day per week in the office in either Sheffield or London.

Does this sound like you?

  • Good knowledge of non-financial risk management industry practices.
  • Experience in Risk Management in a Retail Banking context, specifically operational and conduct risk frameworks, financial services risk, and the wider regulatory context.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to communicate effectively and authoritatively to a diverse audience.
  • Able to work in partnership and with people at all levels, demonstrating strong skills in networking and influencing with the ability to challenge and drive momentum at senior leadership level.
  • Experience in managing an operational risk program in a consumer credit and retail banking environment.
  • Working knowledge of the management and monitoring of operational risk within a financial services organisation.

The Role

  • Facilitate periodic risk and control self-assessment processes, enabling risk and control owners to assess relevant risks. Analyse and use assessment outcomes to drive further risk mitigation where appropriate.
  • Facilitate periodic operational risk scenario analysis workshops, leading development of severe but plausible scenarios that could impact the business. Oversee identification and delivery of risk mitigation actions.
  • Facilitate periodic review of non-financial key risk indicators, liaising with group functions and business leadership to agree relevant indicators and appropriate triggers / limits relative to risk appetite.
  • Provide oversight and challenge to risk management activities conducted by first line colleagues across Retail, including business initiatives, incident recording and management, and risk & control registers.
  • Identify key risk issues and deliver high quality recommendations to enhance the control environment to the appropriate standard.
  • Engage with Audit, Compliance and other control functions / functional risk teams to ensure co-ordination of review plans and sharing of key knowledge.
