Are you an AutoCAD Technician, CAD Technician or Technical Draughtsperson with strong 2D AutoCAD experience, looking for a varied technical role within a growing specialist manufacturer offering training and long-term career progression?
On offer is the opportunity to join an established manufacturing business with over 40 years' experience, producing specialist products for a diverse range of industries and high-profile projects. You'll join an experienced technical department where you'll receive product-specific training and have the opportunity to progress into Senior Designer or Drawing Office Manager positions as the business continues to develop.
In this role, you'll primarily use 2D AutoCAD to produce detailed manufacturing drawings, technical information and cut plans for internal production teams and subcontract manufacturers. You'll work closely with Sales and Production, support the development of new products and manufacturing solutions, and occasionally visit customer sites to take measurements and gather technical information.
This role would suit someone with strong 2D AutoCAD experience and a background in manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or a similar environment. Formal qualifications aren't essential, with the emphasis placed on your practical AutoCAD ability, technical understanding and experience producing accurate drawings for manufacture.
The Role
- Produce detailed manufacturing drawings using 2D AutoCAD.
- Create technical drawings, cut plans and manufacturing information.
- Prepare drawings and documentation for subcontract manufacturers.
- Work closely with Sales and Production on customer requirements.
- Support new product and manufacturing development.
- Measure products and samples to produce accurate drawings.
- Occasionally visit customer sites to take measurements.
The Person
- Strong 2D AutoCAD experience.
- CAD, draughting or technical drawing background.
- Manufacturing, engineering or fabrication experience advantageous.
- Experience producing drawings or cut plans for manufacture beneficial.
- SolidWorks experience advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
