Junior Installation Engineer – CCTV & Electronic Security
Location: London
Salary: £21,000–£26,000 basic + OTE £25,000–£30,000
Employment: Full-time
Recruitment: Peopleforce Recruitment
The Opportunity
Peopleforce Recruitment is working with an established and growing specialist engineering business to recruit a Junior Installation Engineer to join its London-based installation team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career within the electronic security and technology sector.
You may already have some technical or installation experience, be working in a technical environment, or have recently completed a relevant college course. Previous experience within electronic security is beneficial but not essential.
What matters most is your attitude, reliability, willingness to learn and genuine interest in technology.
You will receive structured training and hands‑on development in the latest IP technology, structured cabling, CCTV and access control systems, gaining exposure to the full installation and commissioning process.
About the Role
Joining an experienced engineering team, you will initially work under the guidance of a senior installation engineer before progressing into an established installation team.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the installation, configuration and commissioning of:
- CCTV systems
- Access control systems
- Structured cabling and network infrastructure
- IP‑based security technology
- Integrated electronic security systems
- Associated equipment and diagnostic technology
A structured development plan will be put in place to identify your training requirements, technical development and future career milestones.
This role is particularly well suited to a college leaver or junior technician looking to take their first serious step into an engineering career, as well as someone already working in a technical environment who wants to progress.
About the Client
Our client is a well‑established and ambitious SME operating within the electronic security and technology sector.
The business has built an excellent reputation delivering major CCTV, access control and integrated security projects for a diverse portfolio of organisations, including major commercial environments, national businesses, government organisations and education establishments.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on technically interesting and high‑profile projects while developing skills across a rapidly evolving industry.
You will also be expected to undertake appropriate Health & Safety training and compliance awareness as part of your development.

Training & Career Development
This is a genuine development opportunity rather than simply a junior installation position.
You will receive a bespoke, long‑term training programme designed to develop your technical knowledge and lead towards relevant qualifications.
Your progress will be supported through structured career pathway planning, giving you a clear view of the skills and qualifications required to progress within the business.
