We have an opportunity for an experienced Planning Team Leader to join a busy utilities operation, leading a team responsible for planning and scheduling works to ensure customer, operational and regulatory requirements are met. Here are some of the activities you will be involved with:

  • Leading and supporting a planning team within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Planning and scheduling works using a range of management information systems
  • Monitoring performance, compliance and KPIs, producing reports and identifying trends
  • Managing relationships with internal teams, clients and stakeholders to ensure service requirements are met
  • Prioritising competing demands and responding to both planned and reactive work requirements
  • Handling escalated customer queries and ensuring appropriate resolutions are achieved
  • Producing clear work instructions and supporting operational delivery
  • Driving continuous improvement across planning processes and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental and Streetworks requirements
  • Supporting the delivery of works in line with customer requirements and legislative obligations

We would love to hear from you if you have previous experience leading a planning, scheduling or workforce management team within a utilities environment and are comfortable managing performance, workloads and operational priorities in a fast-paced setting. You will have a strong understanding of Streetworks legislation and associated working practices, along with experience of using management information systems to plan, schedule and monitor work activities.

Additionally, you’ll be highly organised, able to manage multiple deadlines and confident making decisions in a busy operational environment. Strong communication skills are essential, as you'll be working closely with a wide range of stakeholders, balancing customer expectations with operational requirements and business objectives. You will also have a good understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements, be confident using Microsoft Office packages. An IOSH qualification would be advantageous, as would experience gained within the utilities or wider construction sector.

Due to our location, a full UK driving licence is required. Please note this is not a hybrid role and you will be working on site Monday to Friday from 7.30am – 5.00pm.
