We have an opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to lead and manage our civil engineering projects on the SWDP Infra Contract in Ramsgate. This role is central to delivering safe, high-quality, and cost-effective works, while maintaining strong compliance and excellent standards across every project.
The Role:
As Site Manager, you will take ownership of project delivery from start to finish. You'll lead, manage, and motivate your site team and subcontractors, ensuring works are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality. You will coordinate complex activities, from temporary works and deep excavations to compliance with permit systems and RAMS, while maintaining strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
You will monitor site performance, report progress, highlight risks, and ensure solutions are implemented effectively. Your leadership will set the tone for safe, efficient, and collaborative working on site.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved in:
- Lead and motivate site teams and subcontractors to achieve project objectives
- Deliver works safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Manage and monitor project programmes, construction documentation, and drawings
- Ensure compliance with HSEQ procedures and company standards
- Prepare and review RAMS and manage permit systems
- Coordinate temporary works, deep excavations, and other complex site activities
- Maintain clear communication with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
- Monitor site performance, report progress, and escalate issues as required
We would love to hear from you if:
- You are an experienced Site Manager with at least five years in a similar role, with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate teams and subcontractors.
- You will have experience working under NEC contracts, managing subcontractors, interpreting construction drawings and programmes, and maintaining HSEQ compliance.
- You will hold qualifications including SSSTS or SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor, Deep Excavation, NRSWA Supervisor, Water Hygiene (Blue Card), Underground Service Detection, CSCS, and First Aid.
- You will also have advanced Excel skills and a full, valid UK driving licence.
- Experience in sewage or clean water networks, utilities, or highways projects would be a plus, along with knowledge of cost and resource control and experience with the design and implementation of temporary works.
- You should be organised, reliable, and able to work proactively to solve problems on site while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
