We’re opening Thistle Shoreditch and Thistle Express Shoreditch, a significant addition to the London market with 462 keys across both properties, multiple Food & Beverage outlets, Leisure Club and several Meeting & Event spaces. We are looking for a General Manager who’s ready to shape its identity, build a high‑performing team and deliver extraordinary hospitality. You’ll bring the brand to life, create a culture rooted in exceptional service, and establish the hotel as a great destination from day one. As the face of the hotel, you’ll inspire your team, engage with guests, and build strong relationships across the community and business landscape. Working closely with sales, marketing, and revenue teams, you’ll drive performance, maximise profitability, and ensure the hotel enters the market with impact.

What you’ll bring

  • New Opening Mindset - Experience or passion for pre‑opening projects - from building teams and processes to launching a hotel with confidence and flair
  • Commercial & Financial Expertise - A strong grasp of market dynamics, revenue opportunities, and cost control to ensure a successful and sustainable opening
  • Results‑Driven Focus - The ability to deliver exceptional outcomes at pace, ensuring the hotel launches smoothly and operates at the highest standard
  • Outstanding Communication - Clear, engaging communication that builds trust, alignment, and collaboration across all levels
  • Influential Stakeholder Engagement - Confidence in connecting with owners, senior leaders, partners, and the local community to champion the hotel’s vision
  • Prioritisation & Delegation Skills - A talent for managing multiple pre‑opening priorities while empowering your team to take ownership and grow
  • Proven Hospitality Success - A track record of delivering strong results in a leadership role, and experience in an opening environment in General Manager capacity
  • Drive, Focus & Ambition - A real commitment to excellence and a passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences from the very first day
