The Role… We have an opportunity for an experienced Hotbox Driver (HGV) to join our team working on the Anglian Water Alliance. This role is a key part of supporting reinstatement works, ensuring hot asphalt is delivered safely, at the correct temperature, and in line with specification. While titled Hotbox Driver, this is very much a hands‑on HGV role, combining driving with the operation of specialist equipment and close support of site teams working in live environments.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in…

  • Driving and operating a hotbox vehicle to support reinstatement works
  • Transporting hot asphalt and materials safely and efficiently to site
  • Maintaining material temperature and quality in line with specification
  • Supporting reinstatement crews with loading, unloading and material preparation
  • Carrying out daily vehicle and equipment checks, reporting defects promptly
  • Working safely in live highways and public areas, maintaining a professional approach
  • Ensuring compliance with Anglian Water, highway authority and health & safety requirements
  • Completing delivery records, paperwork and digital reporting

We would love to hear from you if… You are an experienced HGV driver, ideally with experience in highways, utilities or civil engineering environments, and understand the importance of quality reinstatement and safe working practices. You’ll be comfortable operating specialist equipment, working closely with site teams, and representing the business professionally on customer-facing sites. A strong safety‑first mindset and a practical, team‑focused approach are essential. A Class 2 HGV licence (Class 1 advantageous), Driver CPC, CSCS card, and a full UK driving licence are required. Experience operating a hotbox vehicle, holding NRSWA (Streetworks), would be highly beneficial.
