Clancy is looking to recruit a permanent Water Network Team Leader to support our clean water operations across the Devon and Cornwall region. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a practical, hands‑on position working outdoors and is comfortable operating in all weather conditions.
The Role
- As a Water Network Team Leader, you will take responsibility for leading a team and ensuring high‑quality delivery of water network works, while maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
- Daily activities include:
- Locating and repairing mains water defects
- Checking equipment and systems to ensure they are fit for use, maintained, and fully operational
- Carrying out risk assessments and maintaining safe working practices
- Ensuring strict adherence to all Clancy Group health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Acting as a mentor and coach to less experienced colleagues
Qualifications
- You have previous experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor, with a strong all‑round knowledge and understanding of the construction and water industry.
- You will be confident leading a team, managing day‑to‑day operations, and mentoring colleagues.
- A full, clean driving licence is essential, and an NRSWA qualification is highly desirable.
- You should have experience in underground service detection using tools such as CAT and Genny, alongside a strong awareness of health and safety practices.
- Experience with main laying and knowledge of techniques such as Open Cut, Pipe Bursting, Slip Lining, or Directional Drilling would be highly advantageous.
- While a CSCS card or equivalent is desirable, experience operating machinery such as diggers or excavators is also valuable.
