We’re looking for a Breakdown Coordinator to join the team and take ownership of managing vehicle and plant breakdowns, helping minimise downtime and keeping our delivery teams on track. This is a fast-paced, hands‑on coordination role where you’ll be trusted to make decisions, organise solutions and keep communication flowing between drivers, workshops and suppliers.

Here are some of the activities you will be involved in:

  • Taking ownership of vehicle and plant breakdown incidents, coordinating rapid response solutions to keep downtime to a minimum.
  • Acting as the central point of contact between drivers, workshop teams, operational colleagues and external repair providers.

  • Maintaining clear and accurate records of breakdowns, repairs and follow‑up actions.
  • Working closely with service providers to ensure repair work is completed efficiently and to the required quality standards.
  • Reviewing breakdown trends and highlighting opportunities to improve fleet reliability and preventative maintenance planning.
  • Keeping operational teams updated with progress and expected return‑to‑service times.

  • Experience within fleet coordination, logistics, transport planning or plant operations would be beneficial, particularly if you have exposure to vehicle or equipment maintenance processes.
  • You’ll be a confident communicator who enjoys working with a wide range of people and can remain calm when managing time‑critical situations.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands are essential, as you’ll often be coordinating multiple incidents at once.
  • You will be comfortable using IT systems to track activity, update records and produce reports.
  • Mechanical or plant knowledge would be advantageous, along with a strong technical awareness of fleet or vehicle operations.
