We’re looking for a motivated and determined Construction Manager to lead a major project within our portfolio, focusing on the pre‑construction phases, methodology development and spend control. This role involves work on power cable circuits, diversions, refurbishments and upgrade of a primary 132 kv substation.
Responsibilities
- Manage designated project work to ensure successful completion in line with safety, technical, and legislative policies and procedures.
- Undertake site visits and attend kick‑off meetings, monitoring progress and providing regular updates.
- Liaise and coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to meet key program dates.
- Execute project execution plans in alignment with the proposed delivery strategy.
- Demonstrate visual leadership, promote an alliancing behaviour and maintain proactive working relationships with the client.
Qualifications
- Detailed understanding of the power industry with significant technical and practical experience.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking and the ability to offer effective solutions.
- NEC 3 contract experience and proficiency in planning and programming.
- Experience in substation projects, general project management involvement and knowledge of HV electrical and civil works.
- A full UK driving licence and NRWSA experience.
