Dalhousie Castle Hotel is a historic castle hotel located just outside Edinburgh, offering guests a unique stay combining over 800 years of history with warm, personal Scottish hospitality.

Following an exciting period of development at the hotel, we are continuing to strengthen our team and are looking for people who take genuine pride in creating an exceptional experience for every guest.

Our team is at the heart of Dalhousie Castle. Whether preparing a beautiful guest bedroom, welcoming an arrival or ensuring our public areas are immaculate, we all play a part in creating the memorable experience our guests have travelled from around the world to enjoy.

We are looking for a Housekeeping Team Member to join our team at Dalhousie Castle.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who takes pride in high standards, has a strong eye for detail and enjoys being part of a friendly hotel team.
As a Housekeeping Team Member, you will play an important role in ensuring our guest bedrooms and public areas are beautifully presented and ready for our guests. Working within a historic castle means every room is different, and attention to detail is essential.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • - Cleaning and preparing guest bedrooms and bathrooms to a consistently high standard
  • - Making beds and replenishing bedroom linen, towels and guest amenities
  • - Servicing occupied bedrooms during guests' stays
  • - Ensuring bedrooms are fully presented and ready before guest arrival
  • - Maintaining excellent cleanliness and presentation throughout public areas
  • - Replenishing housekeeping cupboards and supplies
  • - Reporting maintenance issues, damage or anything that may negatively affect the guest experience
  • - Identifying and reporting lost property in line with hotel procedures
  • - Working closely with Reception and the wider hotel team to respond to guest requests
  • - Helping ensure corridors, housekeeping areas and equipment remain clean, organised and presentable
  • - Taking ownership of standards and identifying anything that could be improved before a guest has the opportunity to notice it

Previous housekeeping or hotel experience would be beneficial, but it is not essential. We are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, reliability and attention to detail, as full training can be provided.

You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a busy hotel environment. Weekend and flexible availability will be important due to the nature of the hospitality industry.
Above all, we are looking for someone who understands that housekeeping is a fundamental part of the guest experience and takes genuine pride in presenting a room they would be delighted to stay in themselves.
