The Lead Civil Engineer within the Design team is responsible for the delivery of high quality internal civil designs, at both feasibility and detailed design stages, while ensuring that integrity and consistency of external civil design inputs. You will be leading a single discipline team to deliver discreet civil packages of work to meet programme and cost targets. You’ll be developing complex feasibility and detailed designs for projects of a high complexity, leading civil quality assurance of internal and externally designed packages, in addition to line management and development of the civil engineering team.
Here are some of the activities you will be involved in:
- Quality assurance and co-ordination of civil engineering deliverables
- Review and approval of technical documents and drawings
- Ensuring compliance with DNO standards, ENA regulations and safety legislation
- Leading and mentoring a team of civil engineers and designers
- Reporting on civil packages at a project specific level across the portfolio
We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate:
- At least 5 years’ experience in engineering design or project delivery.
- Hands on experience developing complex civil projects throughout their entire lifecycle from concept to project handover.
- Experience in leading and developing high performing teams.
- Highly developed communication skills and experience in client-facing roles, working with a wide range of stakeholders.
- At least a Higher National Diploma (HCD) in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of substation design including structural, foundation, bund and structures design using various common construction materials (steel, concrete and aluminium etc).
