About The Joshua Tree
The Joshua Tree supports children and families affected by childhood cancer, providing vital emotional health and wellbeing support throughout diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and beyond. This year marks our 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of impact, compassion, and support. Over the last five years alone, the charity has doubled its income, significantly expanded its team and services, and increased its reach to support more than 450 families nationally. As demand for our services continues to grow, we are seeking two new Trustees to help shape our next phase of national development.
The Opportunity
As a Trustee, you will work collaboratively with fellow Trustees and the CEO to help shape the future of The Joshua Tree, ensuring strong governance, financial sustainability, and effective strategic oversight. We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring commercial insight, influential networks, and experience of scaling organisations, services, or partnerships.
Time Commitment
- Quarterly Board meetings held at our Support Centre in Sandiway, Cheshire, with virtual attendance available if preferred
- Committee meetings (where appointed), held virtually up to four times per year
- Occasional strategy sessions, events, and stakeholder engagements, typically one to two times annually
This is a voluntary, unpaid role. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.

- Strong judgement, integrity, and a collaborative approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children and families affected by cancer
We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Scaling charities, organisations, or services nationally
