About J.I.M Joy in Movement (J.I.M) is the UK’s first fully automated infrared fitness studio offering 30‑minute, low‑impact classes in 400°F heat to fresh DJ‑produced beats. We help people sculpt, stretch, strengthen, and feel good in their bodies.

The Role

As Studio Manager you are the heartbeat of your J.I.M. You shape the energy members feel the moment they walk in, build the community that keeps them coming back, and own three key performance areas: Attract, Convert, and Retain. You also operate the studio, ensuring standards, systems, and compliance run smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Attract – Local Presence & Lead Generation
    • Generate qualified leads through community outreach, local partnerships, and social media.
    • Own your studio’s local social channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook): plan, shoot, schedule, and engage content daily.
    • Run local marketing campaigns and free trial promotions to drive new sign‑ups.
    • Partner with local businesses, wellness practitioners, and influencers.
    • Work with the J.I.M marketing team to maintain brand voice consistency.
    • Track and log every lead in the CRM.
  • Convert – Sales & Free Trial Management
    • Move leads through the pipeline using the most appropriate channel.
    • Pre‑call Free Trial members the day before their session and send an SMS reminder the morning of.
    • Conduct post‑class follow‑up within 24 hours.
    • Hit the 60% conversion target within 2.5 weeks of a member’s first class.
  • Retain – Member Experience & Community
    • Be the face of the studio: acknowledge and greet every member on entry.
    • Know members by name and celebrate their milestones.
    • Monitor weekly check‑in patterns and proactively re‑engage low‑frequency members.
    • Curate wellness events, workshops, and guest sessions such as recovery clinics, breathwork, nutrition talks, run club, book club.
    • Address member feedback and resolve complaints with care.
  • Operate – Studio Standards, Team & Systems
    • Run day‑to‑day studio operations: opening, closing, scheduling, cleanliness, equipment, lighting, safety.
    • Recruit, train, and manage the Studio Assistant.
    • Onboard new members with comprehensive orientation.
    • Manage bookings, memberships, payments, and access control via Hapana Core.
    • Update Hapana Grow daily with logs and lead status updates.
    • Process membership changes and handle failed payment retries.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot CloudFit, Nightlife, lighting, and access control.
    • Process member account deletion requests in line with UK GDPR.

Measurement & Operational Rhythms

  • Daily
    • Check and respond to leads in Hapana Grow.
    • Complete opening and closing procedures.
    • Reset hot room between classes.
    • Review no‑shows and low check‑in members.
  • Weekly
    • Update KPI tracker.
    • Post 5–7 pieces of social content per shift.
    • Clean up lead pipeline in Hapana Grow.
    • Review class bookings and capacity.
    • Hold 1:1 meeting with line manager.
  • Monthly
    • Analyse conversion rates and sales performance.
    • Review member retention trends.
    • Complete systems audit.
    • Set goals for the next month.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 2+ years’ experience managing a studio, gym, retail space, hospitality venue, or similar customer‑facing operation.
  • Strong organisational, proactive mindset and comfort with owning KPIs, especially client retention.
  • Passion for health, wellness, or fitness (yoga, Pilates, hot fitness, recovery, nutrition).
  • Content creation skills: shooting, editing, and posting engaging reels.
  • Energetic, warm, and joyful presence.
  • Proficiency with community‑builder qualities and ability to engage members by name.
