Responsibilities:
- Installing and maintaining HV equipment and switchgear, including AIS and GIS systems up to 132kV.
- Working on power transformers, protection panels, battery chargers, SCADA/telecontrol panels, and more.
- Interpreting technical drawings, setting out installation work, and ensuring all activities comply with design specs and safety standards.
- Collaborating with engineers, project managers and clients to ensure efficient, safe delivery of work.
Skills and experience:
- DNO industry experience in the UK.
- A proven track record in the construction, repair, and operation of HV equipment up to 132kV.
- An NVQ Level 3 in electrical installation work.
- A sound knowledge of HV and LV systems and experience working as an Electrician (advantageous).
- Familiarity with a range of switchgear, protection types, and installation/maintenance procedures.
- Competency using testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- A flexible approach to completing standby and out-of-hours work.
- A full UK driving licence – travel is essential in this role.
