Overview: We are seeking an experienced Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to take responsibility for the safe operation, maintenance, and oversight of high voltage (HV) electrical systems up to 400kV within the offshore renewables sector. This role is pivotal to ensuring the integrity, safety, and performance of HV infrastructure, delivering technical leadership across multiple project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a technical subject matter expert on 400kV HV operations and maintenance.
- Perform SAP duties including outage planning, site switching, establishing demarcation, and issuing safety documents.
- Guide operational teams with troubleshooting and safe practices in HV systems.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to uphold safety and performance standards.
- Monitor and report HV safety performance across sites.
- Support the Electrical Safety Management System as an Authorised Person.
- Participate in authorisation panels and training programmes as Authorising Engineer.
- Provide mentoring to less experienced staff on HV safety procedures.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Significant hands-on experience as an Authorised Person, ideally at 400kV.
- Valid HV authorisation.
- Sound understanding of HV safety management, ideally within the offshore wind sector.
- Knowledge of UK Electricity at Work Regulations or equivalent standards.
- Strong technical background in the design, commissioning, and operation of HV systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex HV faults.
- Confident communicator and effective team collaborator.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
