Play a key role in shaping the environmental performance of one of the UK's most significant nuclear infrastructure projects.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an Environmental Arrangements Engineer to support environmental compliance, governance and continuous improvement on a major nuclear construction project.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a nationally significant programme while developing your career within a collaborative and technically focused environment.
You will support ISO 14001 compliance, environmental management systems, auditing and stakeholder engagement, helping ensure environmental standards are embedded throughout project delivery.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and deputise for the Environmental Arrangements Lead.
- Maintain and improve the project's Environmental Management System.
- Support ISO 14001:2015 accreditation and surveillance audits.
- Develop environmental arrangements, procedures and management plans.
- Embed environmental and sustainability requirements into designs, contracts and work packages.
- Support environmental aspects of incident reporting, design changes and procurement.
- Conduct environmental inspections and performance reviews.
- Monitor environmental compliance across construction activities.
- Engage with site teams, contractors, regulators and key project stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Sustainability or Environmental Engineering.
- Experience working within an EMS aligned to BS EN ISO 14001:2015.
- Knowledge of environmental compliance, permits, licences and consents.
- Experience supporting environmental audits and management procedures.
- Experience with compliance monitoring and continuous improvement.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational, prioritisation and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
